Electronic notifications
About electronic notifications
Electronic notifications are a way for citizens, businesses and public entities to receive communications from the public administration directly via email or through the gov.pt mobile application, or on the gov.pt portal.
Electronic notifications allow you to receive legally binding communications from public services in a fully digital format. They have the same legal value as registered post, but are faster, more accessible and centralised.
You can receive, for example:
- Judicial summons and notifications
- Notifications regarding economic activity services (sales, auctioneers, pawnbrokers, others)
- Notifications about applications for European funding
Subscribing to notifications
Subscription is free and done online using the Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key. Individuals, businesses and public entities can subscribe to electronic notifications.
Find out more about how to subscribe to electronic notifications
Once you’ve subscribed, you can access your electronic notifications in several places, such as on the gov.pt portal, the gov.pt app (available on Google Play, the App Store, and the AppGallery) and the email address you designate as your Digital Single Address (Morada Única Digital - MUD).
