How to begin the nanny activity

The nanny is the person who takes care of children in their home until they reach the pre-school age.

From the age of 3 years old (completed until 15 September), the child must be enrolled in a pre-school establishment.

The nanny can take care of a maximum of 4 children and carry out the activity in a free scheme, through direct hiring with the families in written form, or develop the activity in a foster care institution, in which case it is called a family nursery.

The nanny activity aims to provide the child, in collaboration with the family:

  • A safe and familiar environment;
  • The appropriate conditions for their full development, in an environment of physical and emotional safety;
  • The appropriate care for their needs and well-being;
  • To ease the conciliation of the family and professional life of the child's household.
