Evidence of carrying out a professional activity

Evidence of carrying out a professional activity may be submitted to the relevant authorities or companies in European Union (EU) countries when workers wish to work in such Member States.

Such evidence can be requested from three different authorities.

If you are an individual partner/manager of an undertaking or have an individual business or are a self-employed worker:

  • where your activity falls under CAE [SIC] 05 to 43, you must request for evidence from the Directorate-General for Economic Activities (DGAE);
  • for activities falling under CAE 45 to 47; 494; 55 to 63; 68 to 75; 77 to 82, 85 to 87; and 90 to 95 (except 92) you will need to request evidence from the Portuguese Commerce and Services Confederation (CCP).

If you are an employee, you will need to request evidence from the Working Conditions Authority (ACT).

Proof of professional activity

Evidence of carrying out a professional activity may be used to prove to a competent authority or a company in the European Union that you have professional experience.
