Portuguese associations and cooperatives - change of legal representative

This is the procedure for changing the person who is allowed to represent a given legal entity before the Secretariat-General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (SGPCM) in the context of any process concerning a declaration of public interest or in connection with a foundation, and also for the purposes of the annual reporting or communication of legally required information. Every entity has a single representative (a natural person) for this purpose.

Procedure

  • Submission of the request.
  • Examination of the applicant’s powers to represent the entity by the SGPCM.
  • Change made to the SGPCM database to allow the new representative to be recognised by the authentication system of the Administrative Modernisation Agency (AMA).
  • Communication to the person concerned.
