Employing entity - notification of employee admission

Allows employers to notify the competent Social Security services of the recruitment of workers. This notification must be submitted to the services responsible for the area where the worker’s workplace is located.

The obligation to notify the admission/recruitment of a new worker must be fulfilled within one of the following time limits:

  • Within the 15 days prior to the start of the activity
  • Within the twenty-four hours following the start of the activity, in the case of:
    • very short-term contracts (seasonal agricultural activities or the organisation of tourism events)
    • work carried out on a shift basis

Documents:

  • Worker’s Social Security Identification Number (Número de Identificação da Segurança Social – NISS)
  • Worker’s date of birth
  • Total contribution rate (only the rates of 34.75% and 32% are available)
  • Start date of the activity
  • Type of employment contract
  • If there is more than one establishment: Code of the establishment where the worker will carry out their activity

Authentication methods:

Citizen Card (Cartão de Cidadão) or Social Security beneficiary number and individual password
