Hydrographic surveying – registering an activity

Any activities to be carried out in the field of hydrographic surveying must be communicated to the Hydrographic Institute by means of a prior notification.

Only official cartography organisations are exempted from this requirement.

Os interessados devem apresentar:

  • Caso se trate de pessoa coletiva, o código de acesso online à certidão permanente do registo comercial ou, se a entidade não se encontrar sujeita a registo comercial, uma certidão de inserção no Registo Nacional de Pessoas Coletivas.
  • No caso de pessoa singular, autorização para consulta junto da Autoridade Tributária do registo da atividade ou documento comprovativo de declaração de exercício de atividade.
  • Caso o interessado se encontre legalmente estabelecido num Estado-Membro da União Europeia, documento que comprove o exercício da atividade de produção de cartografia hidrográfica, com a indicação do código de classificação das atividades económicas nesse Estado-Membro (se aplicável). Neste caso, a entidade necessita de um representante legal nacional para efetuar o pedido no portal gov.pt.

Procedure

  1. Completion and submission of the form for the prior notification hydrographic surveying activities via the gov.pt portal.
  2. After submitting the form, the applicant will receive an email confirming receipt of the application.
  3. The Hydrographic Institute receives and examines the application within 10 working days.
  4. If all the mandatory elements are included in the prior notification, the Hydrographic Institute will send an email to the applicant informing them that the name and contact details of the sender of the prior notification are now on the public list of entities that have communicated that they are carrying out activities in the field of hydrographic surveying. This list is available on the Hydrographic Institute website and on gov.pt portal.
  5. If the application is incomplete, the Hydrographic Institute will send an email asking the applicant to submit the missing elements or to respond within 10 working days.
  6. If the applicant responds within 10 working days and sends the missing information, the procedure is resumed from point 3. If the applicant does not reply within the time limit or fails to provide the missing information, the Hydrographic Institute will not consider the prior notification and will inform the applicant of this.
