gov.pt app introduces new features and services

The Agency for Administrative Modernisation (AMA) has launched a new version of the gov.pt mobile app for smartphones, following its initial release at the end of last year.

The updated gov.pt app introduces several new features, including:

  • Digital renewal of the Citizen Card: It is now possible to renew the Citizen Card directly through the app, streamlining the process and avoiding the need for in-person visits.
  • Integrated payment: Users can pay for the Citizen Card renewal within the app, making the procedure quicker and more convenient.
  • Access to paperless invoices: Users can join and view invoices from participating establishments, encouraging sustainability and better financial organisation.

The gov.pt app is available for Android, iOS and Huawei devices, and also offers additional services such as:

  • Activation of the Digital Mobile Key using biometric data
  • A digital wallet with 22 identification documents
  • The ability to sign digital documents

These new features have been launched under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
