gov.pt app distinguished internationally

The gov.pt mobile application has been recognized as a “Champion 2025” in the e-Government category by the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). This distinction was awarded by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an agency of the United Nations (UN).

How does the gov.pt app work?

The gov.pt app offers various features that allow citizens to access digital public services, such as:

• Making official documents available in a digital wallet, including the Portuguese Citizen Card and Driving License
• Renewing the Citizen's Card
• Activating the Digital Mobile Key
• Among others

The gov.pt app was distinguished at WSIS 2025 among 972 projects worldwide, with the support of millions of votes from the public.

The app is available for Android, iOS and Huawei.
