Applications reopened for SME Fund vouchers 3 and 4
Applications for SME Fund vouchers 3 and 4 are available again, after being suspended in February due to lack of funds. The SME Fund is a European initiative that supports small and medium-sized enterprises in protecting industrial property rights.
What each voucher finances
The SME Fund supports the reimbursement of expenses for the protection of industrial property. There are currently four types of voucher available:
- Voucher 1: support for European patents and legal costs
- Voucher 2: support for trademarks and designs
- Voucher 3: support for national patents and state of the art
- Voucher 4: support for Community plant variety rights.
How to apply to the SME Fund
The application must be made online, on the SME Fund platform of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications are open until December 5, 2025, but may close earlier if the budget runs out.
