Informal carer's card now on the gov.pt app
The informal carer's card can now be accessed via the gov.pt mobile application. The gov.pt app allows you to store and present official documents with legal validity directly on your mobile phone, such as the Portuguese Citizen's Card, driving licence and now also the informal carer's card. The gov.pt app provides simple and secure access to the state's digital services. It allows you to perform services, consult documents, receive notifications from public services or entities, authenticate yourself and much more - all from your mobile phone or tablet.
Adding the informal carer's card to the gov.pt app
The gov.pt app is available free of charge for Android (Google Play), iOS (App Store) and Huawei (AppGallery).
To add the informal carer's card to the app, you must authenticate with a Digital Mobile Key.

What is the informal carer's card?
The informal carer's card recognises the status and rights of those who care for people who are dependent, disabled or incapacitated, regardless of age. It can now be consulted and displayed directly on mobile phones.

In addition to simple and secure access to official documents with legal validity, the gov.pt app offers 25 digital documents, such as:
- Portuguese Citizen's Card
- Driving licence
- Informal carer's card (now available).
