Proof of Motor Vehicle Insurance and Student ID Card available on the ID.GOV.PT app
Proof of Motor Vehicle Insurance and the Student ID Card are now available on the id.gov.pt mobile application.
Motor Vehicle insurance protects anyone who has a car accident, guaranteeing that personal injury and vehicle damage will be compensated, regardless of the financial circumstances of the person responsible for the accident. Presenting proof of Motor Vehicle Insurance on the id.gov.pt application means you don't need to present the paper proof, you just need to have the application installed.
This card is only available on id.gov.pt for own vehicles and cannot be added to company vehicles at the moment. Find out how you can add cards to the id.gov.pt app.
Digital documents added to the id.gov.pt app have the same validity as original documents. Validity can be checked via the app, installed on another mobile device, using the ‘QR code’ feature.
To install the id.gov.pt app (Android, iOS or Huawei) on the mobile phone, the user must have the Digital Mobile Key (CMD), which is required for all the app's features.
With proof of Motor Vehicle Insurance and the Student ID Card available, there are now 18 documents that can be added to the id.gov.pt app. The documents are:

- Military Sickness Assistance Card (ADM)
- National Republican Guard Social Services Beneficiary Card (SSGNR)
