Support available for preparing applications to European R&D programs

The SIID - Internationalization of R&D - Preparation of R&D applications to European programmes such as the Horizon Programme, the Eureka Network, Digital Europe, the Research Fund for Coal and Steel and the European Defence Fund is now open.

This measure supports Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Small-Medium Capitalization Companies, also known as Small Mid Caps, in the preparation and submission of proposals.

How to submit applications

SMEs and Small Mid Caps from the North, Center, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve regions must submit their applications via the Balcão dos Fundos platform. 

Applications are made in two phases:

  • Phase 1: from 02/06/2025 until 30/09/2025, at 5pm
  • Phase 2: from 30/09/2025 to 30/12/2025, at 5pm

What activities are supported

Activities related to:

  • Technical staff dedicated to the preparation and submission of applications
  • Consultancy services
  • Travel and accommodation
  • Intervention by a certified accountant or statutory auditor

The call for proposals has a total budget of 6.1 million euros. The maximum co-financing rate is up to 50%, or 40% for companies in the Lisbon region.
