Companies can apply for support to protect intellectual and industrial property

A new Industrial Property Notice has been launched to support companies in registering patents, utility models and designs. Applications are open until December 30, 2025 and the analysis period is divided into two phases.

This support covers the North, Center, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve regions. The following can apply:

  • Micro, small and medium-sized companies
  • Small Mid Cap companies

The total support available is 2,825,000 euros, with co-financing of between 40% and 50%, depending on the region.

This support, through the Research and Development Incentive System (SIID), is for companies that want to register patents, trademarks or other industrial property rights, both in Portugal and abroad.

To apply, you must go to the Funds Desk and fill in the available electronic form.

Applications are open until December 30, 2025. The analysis will be carried out in the following phases:

  • Phase 1: until July 31, 2025 (6pm)
  • Phase 2: until December 30, 2025 (6pm)
