You can now file your 2024 personal income tax return
The annual Personal Income Tax (IRS) return for 2024 can now be submitted. The deadline for submitting the IRS declaration began today, 1 April, and runs until 30 June 2025.
Who can submit?
- All taxpayers with income in 2024
- Couples or households who choose to file jointly.
How to submit?
The IRS tax return must be submitted online on the Portal das Finanças.
If you need support, you can go to some Citizen Spots, Parish Councils or any tax office. Check out this list of Citizen Spots, Parish Councils or tax offices to find out which support centre is closest to you.
What do you need?
- Access password to the Portal das Finanças
- Passwords for the other members of the household, if filing jointly
The tax office also has two help channels for those who have difficulties submitting their personal income tax return electronically:
- e-balcão service, with access via the Portal das Finanças
- Telephone Service Centre (217 206 707), available every working day between 9am and 7pm.
