Nine more consulates now have Citizen Spots

After London, Paris and São Paulo, it's the turn of Berlin, Boston, Geneva, Luanda, Luxembourg, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto and Zurich to also have Citizen Spots. There are now 12 Citizen Spots outside Portugal. These service desks bring together public services from various entities in a single location.

The services available at the consulates' Citizen Spots

Of the dozens of services that are now accessible in these cities, the following stand out:

Services related to the Portuguese Citizen Card and Digital Mobile Key, such as:

  • Changing the address on the Portuguese Citizen Card
  • Confirming the change of address on the Portuguese Citizen Card
  • Activating the Digital Mobile Key
  • Activating the digital signature of the Digital Mobile Key
  • Renewing the Portuguese Citizen Card

Social Security services, such as:

  • Requesting family allowance
  • Requesting or renewing the European Health Insurance Card
  • Scheduling face-to-face appointments at Social Security
  • Obtaining an unemployment benefit statement
  • Simulating the amount of old age or disability pension to be received

Services related to the National Pensions Center, such as::

  • Request the solidarity supplement for the elderly
  • Request a social widow's pension
  • Request an old-age pension
  • Request a widow's pension
  • Request reimbursement of funeral expenses from Social Security

Services of the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), such as:

  • Make a complaint to ACT
  • Simulate the amount to be received at the end of the employment contract
  • Schedule a face-to-face visit to ACT

Institute for Employment and Professional Training (IEFP) services, such as:

  • Entities (registration of job offers, consultation and management of files, among others)
  • Candidates (management of registration for employment, obtaining a declaration of employment status, among others)

Tax and Customs Authority (AT - Finanças) services, such as:

  • Submit the annual declaration of rents received
  • Consult the declaration and obtain proof of IRS
  • Obtain a document to pay the Municipal Property Tax (IMI)
  • Obtain a document to pay the Single Road Tax (IUC)
  • Submit the IRS declaration

There are also services of the Energy Agency (ADENE), ADSE, the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) and the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS).
