NOVA FCT is the first university to have a Citizen Spot
The Agência para a Modernização Administrativa (AMA) and the Faculty of Science and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa - NOVA FCT signed a protocol yesterday, July 16, for the creation of the first Citizen Spot (CE) on the Caparica campus. This CE, which is expected to open by January 2025, will be the first to operate in a higher education institution in Portugal.
The Citizen Spot centralizes various services from different entities at a single point of service, facilitating access to essential services from the central and local administrations and private entities of public interest. At the Citizen's Spot, an assistant helps you to carry out the service, explaining each step from start to finish. That way, if you want, you can do the service online by yourself next time.
This new space at NOVA FCT allows students, staff and the local community to deal with various administrative matters more quickly and efficiently.
Several services will be available at the EC, including:
- Renewing your driving license
- Change the address on your Citizen's Card
- Request a European Health Insurance Card.
The opening to the public of this Citizen Space on the Caparica Campus joins a network that already has more than 890 points from north to south of the country, located in Citizen Shops, town halls, parish councils, libraries and, soon, in a university.
Sofia Mota, President of AMA, said that “expanding the network of Citizen Spots, in locations that offer greater convenience and accessibility to citizens, is a priority in line with the new service model being developed by AMA, which aims to integrate the current service channels (digital and face-to-face) so that they provide fast, efficient service and an improved experience in accessing services”.
