Porto hosts new Citizen Spot with services for students and the general population

24.04.2025

On April 22, the Academic Federation of Porto (FAP) inaugurated the first Citizen Spot integrated into a higher education institution. The new service desk is located at Pólo Zero, in the center of Porto, next to Clérigos, and is aimed at both students and the general population.

The FAP Citizen Spot offers around 70 services from 15 entities in one place. For example, this is one of 11 counters in the country where foreign citizens with a residence permit in Portugal can request their tax identification number (NIF), social security number (NISS) and national health service number (SNS) all at once.

The aim of the Citizen Spots is to promote proximity and efficiency in public service, reducing trips to various counters and waiting times.

The FAP Citizen Spot is open from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm.
