Deadline for Invoice Validation Extended Until 28 February

The Government has announced an extension to the deadline for validating invoices related to the 2024 IRS, due to high demand, which caused some issues on the portal das Finanças.

Taxpayers now have until the end of 28 February to validate their invoices through the portal das Finanças or the e-Fatura mobile app for Android or iOS, ensuring that all relevant expenses are included in their 2024 IRS.

This extension does not affect the other deadlines related to Personal Income Tax (IRS). The deadlines are:

• From 15 to 31 March: consult and correct deductible expenses considered by the Tax and Customs Authority.
• From 1 April to 30 June: Filing an income tax return declaration for 2024.
