MAIS Program: applications open on May 15
The Institute for Employment and Professional Training (IEFP) has created the MAIS Program - Measures for Activation and Social Inclusion to promote the integration of unemployed people, registered with the IEFP, by carrying out socially necessary work. The IEFP aims to bring unemployed people closer to the labor market, promote their qualification and avoid the risk of social isolation.
Entities promoting socially necessary work can apply from May 15.
Unemployed people selected for these projects will receive a monthly stipend subsidized by the measure.
Who can apply?
The promoters who can apply for this measure are:
- Public and private non-profit organizations
- Local companies owned by municipalities, associations of municipalities or metropolitan areas
In their application, they must propose useful and temporary activities in the areas of social support, the environment, natural heritage, culture or urban planning.
How to apply?
Promoting entities must apply using the form available on the iefponline portal from 9 a.m. on May 15 up to the limit of the budget allocation, i.e. up to the limit of the amount allocated to the project.
The application must be made in accordance with the application support guide.
How the MAIS Program works
The MAIS Program is divided into two support measures:
- Measure + Activation: for unemployed people receiving unemployment benefit or social unemployment benefit.
- Measure + Inclusion: for people receiving social insertion income and other unemployed people registered with the IEFP.
Projects can last up to 9 months. If training is required before work begins, projects can last up to 12 months.
The measure is not intended to fill jobs.
Selection of unemployed people
The unemployed people are chosen by the IEFP and the promoters within 10 working days of the IEFP receiving the approval document.
Priority is given to the following people who are subsidized and registered with the employment office:
- People with disabilities
- Long-term unemployed people (for more than 12 months)
- Unemployed people aged 45 or over
- Victims of domestic violence
- Unemployed people on benefits equal to or less than the guaranteed minimum monthly wage, in the case of the +Activation measure.
