Fraud attempt in the name of the gov.pt portal

The Agency for Administrative Modernisation (AMA) has been informed that there are fraudulent SMS messages using the name of the gov.pt portal as the sender of the message.

The message reads: “Caro contribuinte tem dividas fiscais em execucao faca o pagamento ate 03/12 por MB ENT. 48749 REF. 973 528 067 Valor. 343.93”. 

This ATM reference is not from the Tax and Customs Authority (Finanças) or any other public entity. If you receive such an SMS, do not make any payment and ignore the message. 

These SMS do not originate from the AMA or any application related to the gov.pt portal. They are part of a fraudulent scheme to get people to make undue payments using ATM references.
