Electronic notifications enable citizens, businesses, and public entities to receive communications from the public administration that have legal value. These notifications can be received by email, through a mobile app gov.pt or through gov.pt portal.

What are the documents and requirements to subscribe to Electronic Notifications?
If you are subscribing as a citizen
To sign up for electronic notifications, you must have:
- A Digital Mobile Key or Citizen Card to authenticate yourself
- Email address to set as your Single Digital Address (MUD)
If you do not yet have a Digital Mobile Key, find out how to activate your Digital Mobile Key.
If you want to use your Citizen Card, find out how to authenticate yourself with your Citizen Card.
If you are signing up as a company representative
To sign up for electronic notifications, you must have:
- A Digital Mobile Key or Citizen Card to authenticate yourself
- Email address to set as your Single Digital Address (MUD)
If you do not yet have a Digital Mobile Key, find out how to activate your Digital Mobile Key.
If you want to use your Citizen Card, find out how to authenticate yourself with your Citizen Card.
Depending on your position in the company, you must have the right attributes associated with you in order to sign up for electronic notifications.
- If you are an employee, the company's manager, administrator, director or attorney must associate the employee attributes to "Receive and collect postal correspondence".
If you represent a public entity
To sign up for electronic notifications, you must have:
- A Digital Mobile Key or Citizen Card to authenticate yourself

If you want to use your Citizen Card, find out how to authenticate yourself with your Citizen Card.
- Email address to set as your Single Digital Address (MUD)
Depending on your position in the entity, you must have the correct public attributes associated with you in order to sign up for electronic notifications.
- If you are a public official, you need to link the attributes of a public official and link you with the attributes of an employee with the power to "Receive and collect postal correspondence"
- If you are a local elected official, you need to link the attributes of a local elected official and link you with the attributes of an employee with the power to "Receive and collect postal correspondence"
- If you are an employee, the person with a senior position in the entity must associate you with the attributes of an employee with the power to "Receive and collect postal correspondence"

- Email address to set as your Single Digital Address (MUD)
