You will need to sign in on Social Security Direct (SSD) using one of the following means of authentication:

• your Citizen Card
• your Digital Mobile Key (CMD)
• your Social Security number and password.

When reporting the employment of a young worker, the employer must provide the following documents:

• proof of school enrolment (indicating the name of the educational establishment, year of schooling and level of education);
• proof of school holiday period.

The employment of a young person on school holidays must be reported online on Social Security Direct (SSD).

To access SSD, you will need to sign in using one of the following means of authentication:

• your Citizen Card
• your Digital Mobile Key (CMD)
• your Social Security Number and password.

To report the employment, follow the steps below.

1. After accessing SSD, select the ‘Emprego’ [Employment] menu.
2. Then click on vínculo de trabalhadores > comunicar vínculo do trabalhador > Tipo de contrato > a termo certo > motivo de contrato > outros motivos > jovens em férias escolares [employment > report employment relationship > type of contract > fixed term > reason for contract > other reasons > young people on school holidays].
3. Fill in the form with the information indicated and send your request.

The request to report employment will not be approved until it has been confirmed by Social Security. After it is confirmed, the employment shows as ‘Young people on school holidays’.

The employer must report that it is hiring a worker who is on school holidays 15 days before the employment contract starts.
