Requesting a certificate of professional activity from the DGAE
Proof of professional activity is used to demonstrate, to the competent authorities of other European Union countries (excluding Portugal), professional experience required to carry out a professional activity in those Member States.
Sole traders, self-employed workers and company partners whose activity falls within CAE codes 01 to 43 must request this proof from the Directorate-General of Economic Activities (Direção-Geral das Atividades Económicas – DGAE).

Each proof costs 15 euros.
Payment is made by Multibanco bank transfer.
