Registering a domestic worker
The person for whom the domestic worker works (their employer) must inform Social Security that they are employing the worker.
The communication is made by registering the worker, which can be done online, on Social Security Direct or at the counter.
A domestic worker is someone who performs jobs for another person, such as cooking, laundry, cleaning the house, etc., and receives payment for these services. Those who work in domestic service may also sometimes be known as home help, day workers or cleaning ladies, for example.
