Temporary Cancellation of Registration for Heavy Goods Vehicles Used in Public Transport

The registration of road public transport goods vehicles may be temporarily cancelled under the following conditions:

  • When the vehicle has been submitted for a scrappage incentive application, while the respective process is still pending.
  • When, due to lack of service, the vehicle is immobilised (the cancellation has a maximum duration of 24 months).

In this case, you need to submit:

  • IMT Form Model 9
  • Identification document of the applicant (or a photocopy)
  • Vehicle registration certificate or logbook and vehicle ownership title
  • Declaration by the owner or lawful possessor stating that the vehicle will not be used on public roads while the registration is cancelled

If the vehicle is no longer in use (at the end of its life or destined for scrap), you do not need to go to an IMT service desk. It is sufficient to take the vehicle to a reception centre or an authorised scrap operator.
